Would you consider thinking about changing the order of the lines, and using a bit of "haiku licence"? ;-)

Like those suggestions, Alan.
However, just as it is, it evokes an experience I have here in New York City on occasion. I can still be surprised and moved by the voices of seagulls in my neighborhood!
