I like the weathery link between your use of the words 'windless' and 'cloud' - its well tied together and strong for that.

But ouch, reminds me of my sunrise bicycle rides in Queensland when I would have a dense black cloud of flies tightly packed around my head!
I took my dogs out yesterday evening to do their business and I felt surrounded by gnats... I'm so with your poem of words...
